Houston Texans quarterback Kyle Allen is a healthy scratch for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. In his absence, Jeff Driskel, who was promoted from the practice squad earlier this weekend, will back up Davis Mills. Allen is coming off a two-game stint in which he tossed four interceptions and just two touchdowns. Not only did he lose his starting job, but he won't even suit up in Week 14.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

Washington Commanders quarterback Jeff Driskel got the starting nod in Sunday's preseason finale as the Commanders opted to rest starting quarterback Jayden Daniels and backup Marcus Mariota. Driskel tallied 73 passing yards while going 12-for-18 with an interception and no scores. His longest pass of the evening was for 12 yards to wideout Mitchell Tinsley. While his performance was quite underwhelming, he faced many New England starters. Over the previous two preseason games, the 31-year-old totaled 169 passing yards with 68 rushing yards. Driskel is currently listed as the number three option on the depth chart, and seeing him get the starting nod in this game solidifies his position on the depth chart. Driskel has a tough path to being fantasy-relevant in 2024 and will only get an opportunity in the regular season due to injuries to the other two passers on the roster.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Washington Commanders quarterback Jeff Driskel went 11-for-15 with 82 passing yards and added 45 rushing yards on the ground on Saturday evening. With Marcus Mariota resting, Driskel served as the backup to Jayden Daniels and played quite well through the majority of the game. This performance could have solidified him as the No. 3 QB in the offense, as he threw for 87 yards last week against the Jets. Sam Hartman (shoulder) served as the No. 4 QB last week but did not play Saturday evening due to a shoulder injury. This opened the door for Trace McSorley to play in the final quarter. Driskel showcased his rushing upside on Saturday evening by picking up a nice 41-yard carry on his first drive. In the passing attack, Driskel connected with third-round pick Luke McCaffrey twice for 30 yards. In addition, he found veteran Jamison Crowder three times for 25 yards. Both McCaffrey and Crowder are shaping up to serve as depth options to begin the regular season but could eventually earn a role later on. Mariota clearly has the backup spot locked up to begin the regular season, putting Driskel in no better position than 3rd on the depth chart. There is no foreseeable route where Driskel carries any fantasy relevance right now, and it would require some injuries to find his way to anyone's roster in 2024, especially in non-superflex leagues.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Veteran free-agent quarterback Jeff Driskel is signing with the Washington Commanders, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This will be the eighth team the 30-year-old will have been with during his career, and he's likely going to be utilized as a training camp arm more than anything else. Originally picked in the sixth round by the San Francisco 49ers out of Louisiana Tech in 2016, Driskel has completed 58.6% of his passes for 2,394 yards 16 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 23 career games. He's added 417 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. With Washington almost certainly going to select a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in this month's draft and Marcus Mariota on the roster, it's tough to see Driskel sticking around with the organization into the 2024 regular season.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

Cleveland Browns quarterback Jeff Driskel will serve as Joe Flacco's backup for Saturday's wild-card playoff game against the Houston Texans, according to offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. Driskel gets the backup nod for the playoffs over P.J. Walker despite the fact he didn't join the Browns until November. The 30-year-old got the start in a meaningless Week 18 regular season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals and predictably wasn't very good, going 13-for-26 for 166 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in his first game action of the season. Flacco will return to the starting gig for super wild-card weekend as the Browns look to beat the Texans for the second time in the last four weeks -- they beat the Texans 36-22 back in Week 16 in Houston.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
