Jed Lowrie, Todd Frazier Not Locks For Opening Day
6 years agoNew York Mets third baseman Jed Lowrie (knee) and first baseman Todd Frazier (oblique) aren't locks to be ready for Opening Day. Lowrie sprained a left knee capsule early in camp but has been hitting off a tee and playing catch. His lower-body workouts have been limited to physical therapy. Frazier has performed more baseball activities than Lowrie but hasn't tried to run since he strained his left oblique roughly two weeks ago. Just like the Mets, fantasy owners should assume that neither player will be ready by Opening Day. Jeff McNeil is expected to start at third base, while Peter Alonso could play first if both players aren't ready.
