5 years agoNew York Mets third baseman Jed Lowrie (calf) and outfielder Brandon Nimmo (neck) both took live batting practice on Wednesday and are getting close to returning. Lowrie hasn't yet made his Mets debut this year and has dealt with knee, side and calf injuries along the way. Nimmo hasn't played since May 20 due to a bulging cervical disc and effects of whiplash after crashing into the outfield wall. He could begin a rehab assignment in the next few days. While both Lowrie and Nimmo have time to return to the Mets before the season is over, it's unlikely that either will make much of an impact for fantasy owners the rest of the way.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
