Jazz Chisholm Turning Heads
4 years agoMiami Marlins middle infielder Jazz Chisholm hit New York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom's 100.4 mph fastball for a home run to the upper deck on April 10, making it the hardest-thrown pitch that has been taken deep so far this season. It was also the only triple-digit pitch that deGrom has thrown in the Statcast era that has been taken deep by the opposing hitter out of 58 such fastballs. Chisholm has shown that he can hit for power and hit velocity, and he's gotten off to a very solid start for the Marlins and his fantasy managers in 2021. Through 11 games, the 23-year-old rookie from the Bahamas is slashing .258/.385/.613 with two home runs, five RBI and three stolen bases in 39 plate appearances.
