Jazz Chisholm Jr. To Be Eased Into Baseball Activities
1 year agoMiami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (toe) had a positive report from a foot specialist on Wednesday, according to the team. Chisholm will be eased into baseball activities and will travel with the team on their road trip. The 25-year-old was diagnosed with turf toe in his right foot in the middle of May and was given a four- to six-week timetable for a return. Barring setbacks once he begins a minor-league rehab assignment, Chisholm should return to Miami's lineup as the regular center fielder before the end of June. With Chisholm out, Garrett Hampson and Jonathan Davis have split time in center field. Chisholm is hitting a disappointing .229 (33-for-144) this year, but he also has seven home runs, 16 RBI and 14 stolen bases in 159 trips to the plate.
