5 months agoWashington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels went 21-for-38 with 326 yards and a score in their victory over the Chicago Bears. On the ground, he added 52 yards on eight carries. Playing through a rib injury, Daniels was able to drive the Commanders downfield throughout the game but was unable to strike in the red zone. He found his wideout Terry McLaurin quite often for 125 yards and on an impressive 61-yard reception. However, his fantasy day was significantly improved by an incredible game-winning Hail Mary pass to Noah Brown for 52 yards. The LSU standout continues to add to his impressive rookie resume and remains a top fantasy option.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

2 months agoWashington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels went 29-for-48 with 255 passing yards, a score, and an interception during their loss to the Philpaldeia Eagles in the NFC title game. Daniels added 48 yards and a score on six rushing attempts. Daniels would find his top wideout Terry McLaurin for a 36-yard TD pass in the second quarter. Then, in the third, Daniels would punch in his second score, this time on a 10-yard run. The Commanders were playing from behind throughout this entire offense but were unable to find much consistency on offense due to costly turnovers. The LSU product leaned on his tight end, Zach Ertz, in this game as he targeted him 16 times (season-high) and brought in 11 of them for 104 yards. After having a fantastic rookie campaign, Daniels and the Commanders were unable to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl. Fantasy managers should view Daniels as a high-end QB1 going forward, as he will likely be one of the first QBs selected in drafts in the offseason.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

2 months agoWashington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels should be viewed as a high-end QB1 when he faces the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon. Daniels has led the Commanders to two thrilling upset victories during the playoffs. During this two-game stretch, Daniels has averaged 26.6 PPR points per game. He averaged 283.5 passing and 43.5 rushing per game with four total scores. During the final five weeks of the regular season (excluding Week 18), Daniels averaged a stellar 34.0 PPR points per game. The last time he faced this Philadelphia defense, he threw five passing scores with 258 passing and 81 rushing yards. As a result, DFS players should view Daniels as an elite option as he looks to continue Washington's Cinderella run.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

2 months agoWashington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels went 22-for-31 with 299 passing yards and two scores in their upset victory over the top-seeded Detroit Lions. Daniels added 51 yards on 16 rushing attempts. Daniels found his top wideout, Terry McLaurin, on a 58-yard TD strike in the second quarter. He would then find his tight end, Zach Ertz, on a five-yard TD pass later in the quarter. The rookie targeted his No.2 wideout Dyami Brown the most often but spread the ball around as four pass-catchers caught at least four passes. The former No.2 overall pick continues to produce at an elite level, no matter the size of the stage. He remains a high-end QB1 heading into the NFC Championship Game, where he will face either the Philadelphia Eagles or Los Angeles Rams.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

3 months agoWashington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels will look to extend their playoff run in a showdown in Detroit on Saturday evening. In his playoff debut last weekend in Tampa Bay, Daniels looked poised as he went 24-for-35 with 268 yards and two passing scores. He added 36 yards on the ground. The LSU product finished the regular season on a high note, averaging an impressive 34.0 PPR points per game and tallying over 300 all-purpose yards per game during Weeks 12 through 17. During this stretch, he found the back of the end zone 17 times. This weekend, in a projected high-scoring affair (55.5 projected point total) against the Lions, who have allowed the ninth-most PPR points to opposing QBs, makes Daniels an elite option in all DFS competitions.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
