Jay Bruce Expected To Remain With Mariners
6 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Jay Bruce, who was part of the trade that sent second baseman Robinson Cano and closer Edwin Diaz to the Mets, said he's been told that he will stay with the Mariners entering spring training. Bruce is owed $26 million over the next two seasons, so the Mariners were believed to be willing to flip Bruce to another team. He will be 32 next April and is coming off a disappointing year in which he hit .223/.310/.370 with only nine home runs and 37 RBI in 94 games. Bruce's power isn't what it once was, and he won't offer a ton of fantasy appeal in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.
