Jaxon Wiggins Throws Four No-Hit Innings For Single-A Myrtle Beach
4 months agoChicago Cubs pitching prospect Jaxon Wiggins fired four no-hit innings for Single-A Myrtle Beach on Thursday with a walk and six strikeouts. The Arkansas product has been sensational since being promoted to Single-A with a 2.14 ERA and 0.81 WHIP in 21 innings with 26 strikeouts and five walks. The Cubs' No. 19 prospect is working on a pitch limit this season and has yet to surpass four innings in a game, but he has shown an excellent strikeout rate and has stepped up his game lately after a bit of a slow start in rookie ball. The 22-year-old could advance quickly through Chicago's farm system.
