New York Mets starting pitcher Jason Vargas (calf) will come off the disabled list to start against the Pirates on Friday. He was originally scheduled to pitch Tuesday, but a rainout on Sunday against the Yankees pushed everyone in the rotation back. Vargas has been atrocious for the Mets in nine starts this year, going 2-6 with an 8.60 ERA, 1.83 WHIP and 7.6 K/9. Fantasy owners should keep him far from their rosters, If Vargas doesn't turn things around soon, he may be moved into a relief role.--Keith Hernandez
