Jason Vargas Shuts Down Nationals on Friday
6 years agoNew York Mets left-hander Jason Vargas tossed a quality start against the Washington Nationals on Friday night. Vargas went six shutout innings, allowing just three hits to go along with a season-high eight strikeouts. This was the third straight start in which the southpaw has allowed two runs or less. It was also his second straight win. It appears that Vargas is starting to hit his stride this season. Unfortunately, it has been a lost season for the Mets and Vargas' putrid start to the year rendered him almost useless for fantasy owners. His next start will come against the Chicago Cubs.
