2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers have optioned right-hander Jason Alexander to Triple-A Nashville. Alexander made two spot starts for the Brewers early in July before being shifted to a long-relief role out of the bullpen. The 29-year-old has struggled in his first taste of the big leagues this year, allowing 28 earned runs on 58 hits while walking 19 and striking out only 23 hitters in 45 innings of work over 10 appearances (seven starts). He was especially bad in July, giving up 15 earned runs on 19 hits (four home runs) while walking six and fanning eight in 14 1/3 innings. Alexander could be a candidate for some more spot starts in the second half if the Brewers are in a pinch, but fantasy managers should avoid him as a streamer.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
