Jarren Duran Will Not Start Friday
Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran was initially set to bat seventh and play center field in his major league debut Thursday night, but he will now take a seat Friday night, as the Red Sox are facing New York Yankees left-hander Jordan Montgomery. Kike Hernandez will take his customary place in center field in Duran's stead, with Christian Arroyo manning second base. Duran is expected to play against most right-handed starters, and receive playing time in all three outfield positions. There are big expectations for the rookie, as he slashed .270/.365/.561 with 15 homers and 12 steals in 189 at-bats this season at Triple-A Worcester. He should be added in all but the shallowest formats.
