Jarlin Garcia Expected To Be Game-Ready By May
10 months agoFree-agent left-hander Jarlin Garcia (biceps), who missed all of the 2023 season with a nerve issue in his biceps, recently resumed throwing. However, he won't be ready for the start of spring training but is expected to be game-ready by around May 1. Around six teams have shown interest in Garcia. The 31-year-old Dominican southpaw went 1-4 with a 3.74 ERA (4.27 FIP) and 1.20 WHIP with one save, 18 walks and 56 strikeouts in 65 relief innings for the San Francisco Giants back in 2022. Garcia had a 2.89 ERA with a 21.6 percent strikeout rate, a 7.2 percent walk rate and a 42.1 percent ground-ball rate in 202 2/3 innings pitched from 2019-22 with the Miami Marlins and Giants. When healthy, he can provide some strong relief depth from the left side.
