Jaren Jackson Jr. Leads Memphis Past Denver
3 years agoMemphis Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. scored a team-high 22 points in Wednesday's 108-106 win over Denver, finishing things off with a big fourth quarter. He notched nine points, grabbed five rebounds and produced one block inside the final 12 minutes, helping Memphis to win the quarter by seven points. Jackson Jr. shot 7-for-14 for the game with most of his makes coming from downtown with a 5-for-9 effort. He finished with eight rebounds in total and added two assists and three blocks to his line with three turnovers in 30 minutes. The 22-year-old has had a slow start to the season so far because his shots haven't been dropping, but this performance was a good sign that things are starting to change. He can start building momentum in a nice matchup against the Timberwolves, who are allowing opposing power forwards to shoot 47.4 percent against them.
