Jameson Taillon Picks Up Fifth Win Sunday
New York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon notched his fourth win in his last six starts in Sunday's victory over the Boston Red Sox. Taillon pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings, surrendering four hits and two walks. The 29-year-old righty struck out just three batters but induced 12 whiffs, seven of them coming on his off-speed pitches. Taillon's fastball has been his only consistent weapon this season, though he has flashed strikeout ability with his curveball, slider, and changeup at times this season. He is 4-0 with a 2.86 ERA and 31:9 strikeout-to-walk ratio over his last six starts and can be trusted by fantasy managers once again. Taillon will take on the Red Sox again in his next start.
