Jameson Taillon Coming Along Slowly
5 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jameson Taillon (elbow) could take another 10 days to two weeks until he resumes throwing again as he fights his way back from a right elbow flexor tendon strain. He's been doing weighted-ball exercises and pushups and is gripping a baseball. Taillon will be six weeks removed from the injury this Saturday and was hoping he'd be back in the team's rotation by now. The right-hander thinks he'll resume throwing on the team's road trip next week. "I have days where I feel great, I’m super excited and happy," Taillon said. "Then I have days where I wake up, and I’m pretty sore. I don’t feel the way I want to feel." It's disappointing for his fantasy owners, as it looks like he won't be back until sometime late next month. Taillon has a 4.10 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 30 strikeouts in 37 1/3 innings over seven starts in 2019.
