Jameson Taillon Coming Along Slowly
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jameson Taillon (elbow) could take another 10 days to two weeks until he resumes throwing again as he fights his way back from a right elbow flexor tendon strain. He's been doing weighted-ball exercises and pushups and is gripping a baseball. Taillon will be six weeks removed from the injury this Saturday and was hoping he'd be back in the team's rotation by now. The right-hander thinks he'll resume throwing on the team's road trip next week. "I have days where I feel great, I’m super excited and happy," Taillon said. "Then I have days where I wake up, and I’m pretty sore. I don’t feel the way I want to feel." It's disappointing for his fantasy owners, as it looks like he won't be back until sometime late next month. Taillon has a 4.10 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 30 strikeouts in 37 1/3 innings over seven starts in 2019.
