Jameson Taillon Authors Best Performance Of Season In Tuesday's Win
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon pitched his best game of the season in Tuesday's win over the Seattle Mariners. Taillon went a season-high seven innings, surrendering just one run and one walk on four hits. He matched his season-high with nine punchouts on the strength of 32 called strikes plus whiffs. The lone blemish was an RBI single in the sixth inning, though Taillon baffled the Mariners hitters aside from that, inducing an average exit velocity against of 75 MPH. He has won three straight starts, going six innings or more while allowing one run or fewer in two of those three outings. Taillon's ratios still point to a struggling pitcher, though there remains hope for a strong second half thanks to his 18.2 percent K-BB percentage, 4.23 xERA, and 3.99 SIERA. He is looking like a good buy-low candidate with the All-Star break around the corner.
