James Wood Hits First Home Run, Knocks In Five Saturday
Washington Nationals rookie James Wood hit his first home run and knocked in five runs against the St. Louis Cardinals in a 14-6 victory on Saturday afternoon. The rookie also had a double on the afternoon. In 27 plate appearances, Wood has seven hits, a homer, six RBI, a stolen base and three runs scored while playing center field in his first major league experience. He has also walked at an 18.2% clip, granted in a small sample size. He should continue to get opportunities on a rebuilding Washington squad.
