James Robinson Signs With Giants
1 year agoThe New York Giants have signed running back James Robinson to a one-year deal. Robinson was recently cut by the New England Patriots because of injury issues stemming from his torn Achilles' tendon in 2022. The signing of Robinson seems like a depth move ahead of the inevitable Saquon Barkley holdout. The two sides were unable to reach a long term agreement on an extension this offseason. Barkley is threatening to sit out and not expected to report to camp. That being said, Robinson seems like an extra body in case Barkley isn't available at the beginning of the season. He's expected to compete with Eric Gray and Matt Breida for a backup role.
