James Paxton Will Start Thursday Against Angels
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher James Paxton will start Thursday against the Angels. This was originally Felix Hernadez' spot. Hernandez (back) was recently placed on the 10-day disabled list and may miss through the All-Star break. The Mariners have said that Friday's start, which was originally Paxton's, will be a spot-start from a call-up rather than a bullpen day. Paxton will still be pitching on normal rest due to the off-day the Mariners had on Monday. Paxton has had a great first-half to 2018, posting a 3.41 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and a K:BB of 154:33 across 118 2/3 innings. He should be in all lineups Thursday.
