James Paxton Thinks He Was Tipping Pitches
6 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher James Paxton thinks he was tipping his pitches in his start on April 10 against the Astros, with input from special advisor Carlos Beltran. The left-hander is now convinced that he was tipping his knuckle curveball with runners at second base, and he's making adjustments to correct the issue. He allowed five runs and eight hits in four-plus innings to Houston to raise his season ERA to a poor 6.00 through three starts. Paxton will next face the Red Sox in a tough matchup to begin next week. Those in DFS contests will likely want to stay away from him there.
