James Paxton Strikes Out Seven In No-Decision
5 years agoNew York Yankees starter James Paxton had minimal offensive assistance Monday night during his home start against the Tampa Bay Rays. The 30-year-old allowed just two runs, both coming off home runs, in his six innings of work. Striking out seven in the process, he threw 107 pitches in what was a quality start. Unfortunately for him, he was out-dueled by the opposing starter, with his club's first run coming in the seventh inning, after he had thrown his last pitch. The Yankees would eventually take the lead and later blow it, but Paxton walked away with a no decision, his 5-4 record still intact.
