James Bouknight Out At Least Four Weeks
1 year agoCharlotte Hornets guard James Bouknight (knee) is set to undergo surgery after suffering an injury during practice last Thursday. The team announced on Tuesday that Bouknight will undergo arthroscopic surgery on Wednesday to address a meniscus injury in his left knee. The 23-year-old will be re-evaluated in four weeks, which means he'll miss the first two weeks of the regular season. Bouknight isn't a huge part of the rotation, so his absence won't make a big impact on the Hornets rotation. He averaged 5.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 15.1 minutes per game through 34 games with the Hornets last season. Nick Smith Jr. and Amari Bailey are expected to see more minutes during the preseason with Bouknight sidelined.
