Jamaal Williams Racks Up Garbage-Time Points
5 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams picked up 45 rushing yards on 11 totes and caught seven of eight targets for 35 receiving yards. Williams out-touched fellow back Aaron Jones 18-13, though nine of his touches came when the game was over and finished. Besides these late touches, Williams, like Jones, found running room hard to come by against the stingy 49ers. Garbage-time or not, Williams saw more work in the passing game than Jones, eight targets to one. Perhaps the backfield is shifting more towards Jones as the lead runner and Williams as the pass-catcher, though it may have just been a quirk in the gameplan. Williams and the Packers will take on an improved New York Giants run defense in Week 13.
