Jamaal Williams Carries Risk Into Week 18
2 years agoDetroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams finished outside the top 25 weekly fantasy running backs (half-PPR) from Week 12 to Week 16 and became an unplayable fantasy option. However, he bounced back in Week 17 against the Chicago Bears, rushing 22 times for 144 yards and his 15th rushing touchdown of the season. However, the Lions were solidly in control of the game and Chicago has one of the worst defenses against fantasy running backs. That said, Williams is game-script-dependent and touchdown-dependent at this point in the year. The Lions are unlikely to blow out the Green Bay Packers, so Williams has a low floor in this contest. Additionally, If the Seattle Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Rams before this game kicks off, Detroit will already be eliminated from playoff contention, so there's also a risk the motivation could be lacking for this one.
