1 year agoNew York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt (hamstring) exited during the first half of Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. At the time of his departure, he had caught one of two targets for just five yards. It was a somewhat underwhelming campaign for the rookie as he failed to emerge as a top pass-catching option. He ultimately finishes the season with 23 catches, 373 receiving yards, and zero receiving touchdowns. New York will surely add reinforcements at wide receiver this offseason, creating a lack of clarity around Hyatt's role heading into 2024.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

7 months agoBecause he was frustrated with his standing on the depth chart, New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt requested a trade over the summer, according to multiple team sources. Hyatt played 15 offensive snaps in the Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings and 11 snaps in the Week 2 loss to the division-rival Washington Commanders. He has had one target, which he dropped in the fourth quarter in Week 1. The former third-rounder in 2023 spent most of the summer as the No. 2 wideout behind rookie Malik Nabers, but Hyatt fell behind Darius Slayton on the depth chart in late August. At this point, the Giants think Slayton, a proven veteran, is the better option. Although he's not a big part of the offense currently, the Giants don't have any plans to trade Hyatt. The 22-year-old had 23 catches for 373 yards (16.2 yards per catch) in 2023. For now, Hyatt is off the fantasy radar in most fantasy formats.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

7 months agoNew York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has the potential to be a boom-or-bust flex option in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings. Hyatt, who showcased his game-breaking speed as a rookie last season, could see a breakout opportunity this week. His deep-threat ability could be a nightmare for Minnesota's shaky cornerbacks, especially with Daniel Jones showing increasing trust in the young wideout downfield. With the Vikings struggling in pass coverage and the Giants' offense poised for more vertical attacks, Hyatt is a sneaky flex option in deeper leagues this week.--Danny Boily - RotoBaller

10 months agoNew York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has reportedly put on weight this offseason. The second-year wideout is listed as 185 pounds heading into camp. Hyatt didn't provide the exact number, but he has added some bulk this offseason. The young wideout mentioned that he needed to get bigger in order to play more on the outside as a wide receiver. It'll be interesting to see how Hyatt is worked into the gameplan after a fairly quiet rookie campaign. The wide receiver room is only getting more crowded with Malik Nabers joining the team as their first-round draft pick. Hyatt could be a late-round flier on draft boards this fall.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

10 months agoNew York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has made "tremendous improvement" in knowing what to do out of the huddle and pre-snap, according to head coach Brian Daboll. The 2023 third-round pick had a quiet year with the G-Men as a rookie after a monster final season at the University of Tennessee in 2022. While catching passes from Daniel Jones, Tommy Devito, and Tyrod Taylor, Hyatt caught just 23 passes for 373 yards. It's a good sign that Daboll noted his improvement, but it's tough to find a path toward fantasy upside in 2024. Jones remains the starter at quarterback, and No. 6 overall pick Malik Nabers is expected to be the team's WR1 right away. That said, Hyatt can stretch the field and become a deep threat, making him an interesting late-round flier in best ball formats. He's narrowly on the fantasy radar in traditional "start 'em, sit 'em" leagues.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller
