11 months agoNew York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson (foot) is officially available for Friday's Game 3 against Indiana. He's been upgraded from questionable to available despite battling right foot soreness. Brunson was hurt in Game 2 of the series, but the injury didn't appear to affect him too much, as he finished with 29 points and 11-for-18 shooting. The Knicks star has looked sensational in the playoffs, becoming the second player in NBA history to record 285-plus points and 65-plus assists through the first eight games of a postseason.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

5 days agoNew York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (ankle) stated his recovery is "going well," adding he's been given the green light to participate in basketball activities. The 28-year-old expects to be ready for the postseason, although he hopes to return before the end of the regular season. Brunson has averaged 26.3 points and 7.4 assists throughout the 2024-25 campaign. Unfortunately, he suffered a sprained ankle nearly a month ago in a loss to the Lakers. While he remains on the shelf, Miles McBride (groin) should stay atop the depth chart. Yet, with McBride and Cameron Payne (ankle) both sidelined, Delon Wright could find himself in the starting lineup, with Landry Shamet and Tyler Kolek coming in for relief.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoAccording to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (ankle) is no longer in a walking boot. He was also spotted doing some "light shooting." The 28-year-old sprained his right ankle in a meeting with the Lakers on March 6. As a result, it was announced Brunson would miss at least a few weeks. Fortunately, it seems he's moving in the right direction. Still, the Knicks are looking for a championship, so the team won't put him back on the court until he's fully-healthy. While Brunson is on the shelf, Miles McBride, averaging 14.6 points, 4.7 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 43.1% shooting from deep in seven starts this season, should continue to roll with the first five. Precious Achiuwa, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart should also see a bump in scoring behind Karl-Anthony Towns.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

4 weeks agoAccording to ESPN's Shams Charania, New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (ankle) will miss time after suffering a sprained right ankle in Thursday's overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks. The 28-year-old has had a fantastic 2024-25 campaign, averaging 26.1 points, 7.4 assists, and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 38.8% from behind the arc. With the Knicks gearing up for a deep postseason run, the team certainly won't rush him back, meaning he may be out a little longer. While Brunson is sidelined, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart should all receive more scoring chances. Precious Achiuwa and Miles McBride may also split time in the starting lineup, although both should be more productive without Brunson on the floor.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

4 weeks agoNew York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (ankle) is ruled out for Friday's matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers. Brunson suffered what appeared to be a right ankle sprain during overtime in Thursday's 113-109 loss to the Lakers. He exited the game before it concluded with 1:20 remaining due to the injury. Despite suffering the setback, the 28-year-old posted 39 points, 10 assists, and four rebounds across 41 minutes on the floor. After receiving negative X-rays on his right ankle, Brunson could still miss a couple of games, but it appears he won't be out long-term. Cameron Payne and Miles McBride will likely see expanded roles while the Knicks' star guard is on the shelf.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller
