Jake Junis Heading To 10-Day DL; Heath Fillmyer Starting Sunday
6 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Jake Junis (back) has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with lower back inflammation and will not make his start Sunday against the Red Sox. The move is retroactive to July 3, so Junis will be eligible to return July 13. Heath Fillmyer will make the spot start and pitcher Glenn Sparkman has been recalled from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move. Junis should be held onto in dynasty leagues and leagues deeper than 12 teams. On the other side, Fillmyer has logged just nine career innings at the Major League level, so fantasy owners should not trust him against a very tough Red Sox matchup.
