Jake Guentzel Has Two-Point Outing
4 years agoPittsburgh Penguins winger Jake Guentzel picked up two points in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Islanders, scoring the team's final goal and registering an assist on Pierre-Olivier Joseph's first career marker. Evgeni Malkin also scored for the Penguins, who saw Kris Letang and Mike Matheson return to the lineup. However, Pittsburgh then lost Jared McCann (lower body) in the opening frame, which meant overtime for some forwards, including Guentzel who led all forwards with 22:33 of ice time. He registered three shots and two hits during that time with a plus-two rating. He remains minus-six for the year, so Guentzel hasn't had a great time in even-strength situations, but he has a cozy spot on Sidney Crosby's line and should be able to turn the tide.
