Jake Fraley Clears Concussion Protocol
4 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Jake Fraley has cleared the concussion protocol and is "good to go" after being struck in the helmet with a fastball by teammate Gerson Bautista. Fraley is expected to open the 2020 season in the outfield while Mitch Haniger recovers from core surgery and a back operation, but Fraley will have to play well to keep his job. The Mariners also have top prospects Jarred Kelenic and Julio Rodriguez waiting for their chance at an outfield spot. If Fraley is to secure his outfield job, he could be a decent source of steals, as he stole 22 between Double-A and Triple-A in 2019, but for now he is only worth a flyer in deeper leagues.
