Jake Faria Pitches Four Innings Versus Boston April 1
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Jake Faria went four innings allowing a single run Sunday versus Boston. He was strong through the first four innings but then allowed the first three batters of the fifth to reach which resulted in his removal. The early hook was less than ideal given that Monday's game is scheduled to be a bullpen game for the Rays. In his 86 2/3 innings in the majors during 2017, Faria struck out 84 batters while issuing only 31 walks. Perhaps the biggest concern is that he also gave up 11 home runs in those 86 2/3 innings. Faria is slated to be the third starter for the Rays and should be owned in most 12-team leagues.
