Jake Faria Gets Roughed Up Friday Versus Baltimore
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Jake Faria had his string of strong outings ended Friday versus the Orioles. He lasted six innings (plus letting the first three batters of the seventh to reach) and ultimately was credited with seven runs allowed. He had been pitching well lately but had a rough game Friday. In Faria's 86 2/3 innings in the majors during 2017, he struck out 84 batters while issuing only 31 walks. Perhaps the biggest concern is that he also gave up 11 home runs in those 86 2/3 innings. He has more solid outings than terrible ones. Faria is slated to be the third starter for the Rays and should be owned in most 12-team leagues.
