Jake Faria Fails To Go Five Innings Wednesday Versus Baltimore
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Jake Faria went only 4 1/3 innings Wednesday versus Baltimore. He allowed four runs while striking out five. He left with the lead and the Rays would hang onto it the rest of the way, but he was denied a win due to not going five innings. In Faria's 86 2/3 innings in the majors during 2017, he struck out 84 batters while issuing only 31 walks. Perhaps the biggest concern is that he also gave up 11 home runs in those 86 2/3 innings. He has has more solid outings than terrible ones. Faria is slated to be the third starter for the Rays and should be owned in most 12-team leagues.
