Jake Cronenworth Moves Back Into Two-Hole Monday
2 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Jake Cronenworth will move back into the two-hole when he takes on the Kansas City Royals and right-hander Brad Keller Monday night. Hitting second isn't entirely new to the 29-year-old as he made four consecutive starts in that spot before hitting sixth and fifth over his last two contests. It's been an uneven start to the season for Cronenworth as he's hitting just .216 with three homers in 40 contests but a hearty 12.7% BB% has boosted his OPS to a palatable .694 mark. However, he is striking out at a career-worst 20.5% mark so far while his 97 wRC+ pegs his bat 3% below the league average overall. He has a nice opportunity to get back on track against Keller who owns a 6.19 SIERA and a -1.7% K-BB% on the campaign.
