Jake Arrieta Making Minor League Start Saturday
Jake Arrieta said Wednesday that he’d likely pitch in a minor league game on Saturday as he attempts to be ready for the new season, now just two weeks away. The 32-year-old had to wait until this week to sign with a new team following five seasons with the Chicago Cubs, where he won a Cy Young Award and a World Series. With the Phillies, Arrieta could be the ace, but manager Gabe Kapler has already tabbed Aaron Nola as the Opening Day starter. Although he only has two weeks to get into game shape, Arrieta remains confident he’ll be ready once the season starts.
