Jags Comfortable With Gardner Minshew As Starter
5 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars feel comfortable using quarterback Gardner Minshew as their starter under center with Nick Foles (collarbone) on Injured Reserve. The Jaguars traded for Joshua Dobbs on Monday, but he's expected to backup Minshew until Foles is ready to return. Minshew looked good in relief of Foles in Week 1 against the Chiefs, going 22-for-25 for 275 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. It was basically in garbage time in a blowout, though, and it's unlikely he'll be much of a QB2 next week in Houston. Still, Minshew is worth consideration off the waiver wire in deep two-QB leagues now that he's the starter.
