Jadeveon Clowney Unlikely To Re-Sign With Seattle
5 years agoFree-agent defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is open to re-signing with the Seattle Seahawks, but he'd have to take significantly less money than what the team previously offered him, according to a league source. Seattle also hasn't closed the door on Clowney, but it's not likely in part because of their financial situation and the amount of money he's asking for. Clowney was looking for a deal averaging $21 million per year at the start of free agency, but he has dropped his asking price to around $17-18 million per year. The Seahawks don't have an offer on the table currently after he rejected their last one. The team signed Benson Mayowa and Bruce Irvin this spring and also addressed the position in the draft, so it's looking more likely that Clowney will wait and sign a one-year deal elsewhere.
