The New York Rangers acquired defenseman Jacob Trouba from the Winnipeg Jets on Monday for Neal Pionk and the 20th-overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Trouba is a restricted free agent in need of a new contract, and the Jets could not afford to keep him around. The 25-year-old recorded eight goals, 42 assists, and 18 power-play points last season.
