Jacob Gilyard Sets Record With Seven Steals
Jacob Gilyard played an outstanding defensive game in Wednesday's Summer League clash against the Thunder, registering seven steals in 29 minutes of action. This marks a new Salt Lake City Summer League record for most steals in a single game. Gilyard added 10 points, four rebounds, and six assists to his tally with 3-for-4 shooting from deep. The former Richmond Spider is the NCAA's all-time leader in steals and Gilyard's defensive ability can definitely be an asset for an NBA team, but at five-foot-nine, he's very short even for a guard and this makes it hard for him to earn a regular role in the league.
