Jacob deGrom To Make Four Rehab Starts
3 months agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (elbow) is expected to make four minor-league rehab starts before coming off the injured list in the middle of September, according to manager Bruce Bochy. The right-hander hasn't pitched all season long while he continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery. The plan is for deGrom to make his first rehab start on Thursday or Friday at Double-A Frisco. If he sticks to his plan, deGrom would come off the around mid-September. That would give him a chance to make two or three starts in the big leagues before the end of the season. Although, the Rangers aren't exactly in playoff position, so there isn't a rush to get deGrom back on the mound. It's unlikely that deGrom offers much if any fantasy value for the rest of the season.
