Jackson Jobe Strikes Out Eight In Return To Double-A
4 months agoDetroit Tigers starting pitching prospect Jackson Jobe looked stellar in his return to Double-A on Friday as he logged five innings of one-run ball. He struck out eight and allowed just three hits and one walk. Jobe was placed on the injured list on May 2 with a left hamstring strain. During his rehab stint, he made three short starts at High-A and tossed nine frames to the tune of a 2.00 ERA and 0.67 WHIP. Through 21 ⅔ innings at Double-A this season, the former third-overall pick has dominated with a 2.08 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and an 11:32 BB:K ratio. The 21-year-old could still push for a late-season major league debut due to his stellar play, even though the injury slowed him down for a month.
