Jackson Holliday Riding Pine On Saturday
Jackson Holliday will be on the bench as the Orioles continue a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Holliday, who is the top prospect in baseball, started in each of the last three games. However, the 20-year-old has yet to tally his first hit and has struck out seven times. As a result, Jorge Mateo will slot into the nine-hole and play second base. In eight games, Mateo has a .333/.375/.533 stat line and is worth looking at in DFS today as he will face Brewers pitcher DL Hall, who has a 4.82 ERA and 1.93 WHIP across nine ⅓ innings this season.

Jackson Holliday Blasts Two Homers
Jackson Holliday came ready to swing the bat during Sunday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Holliday took right-hander Michael Lorenzen deep in the second inning. He got him again in the fourth inning, but Holliday's two-homer game still wasn't enough to get the O's the win. He finished the game 3-for-4 as he extended his hitting streak to five games. It hasn't been a great start to the season for Holliday, but it looks like he's finally getting the bat going.

Jackson Holliday Out Against Southpaw
Jackson Holliday (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Holliday got off to a slow start to the year, but the young slugger has been hitting better as of late. Holliday has recorded six hits over his last six games, which includes a four-game hit streak that he'll carry into Sunday's contest. In his absence, Jorge Mateo will cover second base and bat ninth versus left-hander Kris Bubic. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for streaming help as Mateo won't be a great option against Bubic who has pitched well this season.

Jackson Holliday Retreats To Bench Against Southpaw
Jackson Holliday will take a seat on the bench with the team facing a left-handed pitcher on Thursday against the hosting Washington Nationals. Jorge Mateo will take over at the keystone and will bat ninth against Nationals left-hander McKenzie Gore. Holliday has just two hits in 11 at-bats with two walks and five strikeouts against southpaws so far in 2025. The 21-year-old former top prospect has picked things up at the plate lately with four hits in 13 at-bats over the last seven days to raise his season average to .234 (15-for-64). It hasn't been the best start for the former first overall pick, but Holliday isn't going anywhere as Baltimore's starting second baseman. Mateo is a low-upside DFS play in the nine-hole, especially since he's gone just 1-for-17 with three steals as a bench player for the O's so far in 2025.

Jackson Holliday Launches Grand Slam
Jackson Holliday broke out of his slump with a grand slam in Wednesday's 9-1 victory over the Guardians. He had gone hitless in his previous five games entering the day, and the grand slam was only his third extra-base hit of 2025. He's now slashing .216/.231/.392 with two home runs, eight RBI, five runs, and a stolen base in 14 games this season. The top prospect is still clearly a work in progress, but he still has some of the highest upside in the game at only 21 years old. It's worth holding onto him in fantasy to wait for him to figure things out.
