Jackson Ferris Looking For Consistency In Second Half
9 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitching prospect Jackson Ferris has struggled to find consistency through his first look at High-A ball this summer. Through 77 ⅓ innings at High-A Great Lakes, the southpaw holds a modest 4.19 ERA, 1.27 WHIP but a strong 34:101 BB:K ratio. At times, Ferris has looked dominant as he logged five starts without surrendering one run and six more, allowing only two or less. However, he has given up four or more runs on six occasions, which has greatly affected his ratios. Ferris is considered the sixth-best prospect in the Dodger system on MLB.com and is a name to keep a close eye on, as he has showcased elite strikeout potential at times.

Jackson Ferris Turns In Six Scoreless Innings In Latest Start
10 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers pitching prospect Jackson Ferris scattered two hits and a walk and struck out eight in six scoreless innings Sunday for the High-A Great Lakes Loons. The left-hander has been very effective in June with a 2.11 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in four starts. He has 32 strikeouts and 10 walks over 21 1/3 innings this month. The 20-year-old has a 60-grade fastball and curveball combination making him an intriguing prospect. The No. 6 prospect in the Dodgers system is making a case for a promotion this year but is still viewed as being a few years away from the majors. One of the top left-handed pitching prospects in baseball, it will be worth monitoring Ferris as he progresses through the minors.

10 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitching prospect Jackson Ferris turned in another strong performance on Wednesday, where he tossed five shutout innings with six punchouts. Through his first look at High-A, Ferris has logged 52 ⅓ innings with a 4.47 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and a 26:65 BB:K ratio. However, in his past four starts (20 ⅓ innings), he holds a strong 2.21 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and a 7:26 BB:K ratio. However, if he continues to dominate High-A batters, he could reach Double-A this summer which opens the door for a 2025 major league debut.
