10 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitching prospect Jackson Ferris tallied a season-high 10 strikeouts in Wednesday's victory. Ferris allowed just one earned run with four hits and two free passes. Through his first season at the High-A level, the 20-year-old holds a 4.94 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and a 24:59 BB:K in 47 1/3 innings. However, in his past three starts, the former second-round selection has begun to find his footing with a 2.93 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and a 5:20 BB:K. MLB Pipeline ranks Ferris as the No. 6 prospect in the Dodgers system and projects him to reach the major leagues in 2026. Ferris could become a must-stash in dynasty leagues if he carries these elite strikeout numbers into Double-A.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

9 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitching prospect Jackson Ferris has struggled to find consistency through his first look at High-A ball this summer. Through 77 ⅓ innings at High-A Great Lakes, the southpaw holds a modest 4.19 ERA, 1.27 WHIP but a strong 34:101 BB:K ratio. At times, Ferris has looked dominant as he logged five starts without surrendering one run and six more, allowing only two or less. However, he has given up four or more runs on six occasions, which has greatly affected his ratios. Ferris is considered the sixth-best prospect in the Dodger system on MLB.com and is a name to keep a close eye on, as he has showcased elite strikeout potential at times.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

10 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers pitching prospect Jackson Ferris scattered two hits and a walk and struck out eight in six scoreless innings Sunday for the High-A Great Lakes Loons. The left-hander has been very effective in June with a 2.11 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in four starts. He has 32 strikeouts and 10 walks over 21 1/3 innings this month. The 20-year-old has a 60-grade fastball and curveball combination making him an intriguing prospect. The No. 6 prospect in the Dodgers system is making a case for a promotion this year but is still viewed as being a few years away from the majors. One of the top left-handed pitching prospects in baseball, it will be worth monitoring Ferris as he progresses through the minors.--Brian Buckey - RotoBaller

10 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitching prospect Jackson Ferris turned in another strong performance on Wednesday, where he tossed five shutout innings with six punchouts. He allowed just one hit and two free passes. This was a nice follow-up to the best start of the season he posted last week, where he struck out 10 batters across five ⅓ one-run frames. Through his first look at High-A, Ferris has logged 52 ⅓ innings with a 4.47 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and a 26:65 BB:K ratio. However, in his past four starts (20 ⅓ innings), he holds a strong 2.21 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and a 7:26 BB:K ratio. The 20-year-old southpaw is ranked as the number six best prospect in the Dodger system on MLB Pipeline and is projected to reach the major in 2026. However, if he continues to dominate High-A batters, he could reach Double-A this summer which opens the door for a 2025 major league debut.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
