Jackie Bradley Jr. Has Had Some Bad Luck
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. came into Tuesday's game with a .159 batting average on the season, even after getting a couple of hits in Monday's win. Bradley has a .217 batting average on balls in play, which indicates that he's also run into some pretty bad luck in 2021. It's been especially disappointing after he slashed .283/.364/.450 with seven home runs, 22 RBI and five stolen bases in 2020 in his final season with the Boston Red Sox. Bradley has been especially bad against left-handers, going 4-for-34 (.118) with a home run and five RBI. While things should improve for him in the second half with better luck, Bradley's 5.4% barrel rate and 89.9 mph average exit velocity don't bode well. Neither do his .200 expected batting average and 31.9% strikeout rate.
