Jack Neely Traded To Chicago
4 months agoNew York Yankees relief pitching prospect Jack Neely was the headliner piece in the deal that sent Cubs relief pitcher Mark Leiter Jr. to the Bronx. Neely slots in as the 20th-best prospect in the deep Cubs system on MLB.com. The 24-year-old has spent most of the summer at Double-A but recently earned a promotion to Triple-A. Neely held a 2.61 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and a 12:51 BB:K ratio through 31 innings at Double-A. In his first 10 ⅔ frames at the top level of the minor leagues, the right-hander has posted a 3.38 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. The Ohio State product should spend the rest of the summer with Triple-A Iowa and could emerge as a high-leverage option out of the Chicago bullpen in 2025.
