Jack McBain Selected By Minnesota 63rd Overall
6 years agoThis sizeable center Jack McBain (6-foot-3, 201 pounds) was 35th on the NHL’s final scouting rankings and has a lot of upside. Drafted by the Barrie Colts 20th overall, McBain instead chose to play for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens of the OJHL, stating that NCAA Division 1 hockey was his aspiration. In early 2017, he committed to the program at Boston College. He has excellent numbers in the OJHL and has generated a lot of buzz due to his mix of size and skill. Despite having an NHL frame at just 18, his skating needs work and he’ll need experience playing against stiffer competition in college. He has the groundwork to be an effective center in the NHL but will need a year or two of fine tuning.
