Jack Flaherty Walks Three, Takes Loss Monday
2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty fell to 1-2 in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Diamondbacks. Flaherty pitched six innings, allowing four runs on four hits (including a solo home run) and three walks with four strikeouts. While his overall numbers look good, walks have been a major issue for the 27-year-old. He now has a 2.95 ERA, 7.17 K/9 rate, and 7.17 BB/9 rate. Fantasy managers have probably gotten away with starting Flaherty in points leagues, but having as many walks as strikeouts is not a recipe for success in roto leagues. He will look to wrangle his control in his next start at the Mariners.
