Jack Flaherty Takes a No-Hitter Into the Seventh Inning
6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals rookie starting pitcher Jack Flaherty took a no-hitter into the seventh inning on Wednesday. He ended up pitching six innings, allowing just a solo home run and two walks while striking out 10. The strikeouts ran Flaherty's pitch count up to 101, so he was pulled from the game as soon as he allowed his first hit. Still, it was an excellent start that lowered his ERA to 2.97. Flaherty should be solidly in the Rookie of the Year conversation for the National League.
