Jack Doyle Leads Colts in Receiving Yards in Return
6 years agoIndianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle caught six of his seven targets for 70 yards and a touchdown in the team's 42-28 win over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. After missing five games due to a hip injury, Doyle returned to his role as quarterback Andrew Luck's reliable target down the middle. His team-leading seven targets and 70 receiving yards were especially emphatic given how fellow tight end Eric Ebron had been receiving a large share of the Colts' receiving targets while he was out. It is too soon to say whether or not Doyle could be a consistent fantasy tight end for the rest of the season given Luck's propensity to spread the ball around, but his production in this matchup is a promising sign for the future. Doyle will get a Week 9 bye to rest up before taking on a stingy Jacksonville Jaguars defense in Week 10.
