It was all about the ground game being the Achilles heel for Della Maddalena. The standup game was different, with Della Maddalena landing 83 significant strikes compared to Hafez's 32 significant strikes. Della Maddalena's downfall came in the form of Hafez's 6:48 of control time. Do not worry about Della Maddalena going forward.
